El invierno = The winter

With colder winter weather outside, we talked about cold, rain, snow and the holidays arriving. One of the parents brought in some pretend snow powder that grew into a snow-like substance when we mixed it with water. The children really enjoyed mixing, touching, feeling, scooping and playing with "snow".

We painted and decorated pine-trees (pinos) that became Chritmas trees (​árboles de Navidad).
 
We talked about families getting together for the different holidays during the winter and celebrating together. We sang: Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad, Próspero Año y Felicidad...
