Partes de las plantas/Parts of Plants

Some of the seeds (semillas) that we planted (plantamos), grew (crecieron)! Yippie!
This gave us the opportunity to talk about how plants grow and what parts they develop: raíces, tallo, hoja, flor, pétalos... We also glued these parts of a plant on paper.
We also pretend to be trees or plants and practice our yoga tree pose (postura del árbol). We grow from a small ball of seed on the floor extending our legs, body and arms into trees (árboles). Sometimes we have to hold on to the wall for balance so we don't fall over.
Our outside sensory activities included touching and feeling beans and water beads (or "agua balls" as someone called them!)
We also sculpted with playdough and made paper balls with our fingers to decorate flowers.

We talked about la letra V/v and words that start with V/v like Valentina, vela, vestido, venado, ventana, ventilador, etc. The children enjoyed painting with their index finger inside the V and learning about that letter's shape.
