La comida = food

We continued our unit of study about comidas, foods. We learned about tortillas, tacos, quesadillas, tamales, enchiladas, ensaladas, huevos, pan, tocino, sandwiches, flautas, queso, crema, carne, pollo, etc. The children and their families got to sample some of these foods while playing and having fun at our Spring Community Night Día del niño Potluck Party! Día del niño or Children's Day is celebrated at different parts of the world on different days. In Mexico Children's Day traditionally is celebrated on April 30th.

We painted paper plates red and green to make watermelons, sandías. We also painted paper plates orange to make oranges, naranjas. The children also enjoyed forming foods and objects out of clay or barro.
